Reproductive Rights and Barriers to Safer Conception for People Living with HIV in South Africa

Despite the call to integrate HIV and reproductive health services clinics in many settings around the world still fall far short of meeting the reproductive rights and needs of people living with HIV. In this talk Deborah Mindry, from UCLA’s Center for Culture and Health and visiting scholar at the Claremont Colleges Intercollegiate Feminist Center, examines the reproductive rights and desires of people living with HIV in South Africa and the challenges to providing safer conception services. She has conducted research on safer conception for people living with HIV in South Africa, Malawi, Uganda, and the USA.

This program is presented in partnership with the Intercollegiate Feminist Center of the Claremont Colleges and the Office of Public Events and Community Programs.
