Traditional to Faux: Shibori Weaving and Dyeing

Kathleen Huntington Waln will speak about her passion for Shibori, Ikat and researching the history of the fabric arts. The art of shibori can be traced to ancient times, created by clamping, folding, tying, twisting or pressing fabric before dyeing. Her presentation will feature her Japanese kimono and textile collection, as well as her own woven garments and hangings. The Fine Arts Foundation lecture will be followed by a Tea.

This program is sponsored by the Fine Arts Foundation.
