Scripps Presents Live Performances: Recalling Spirits
Recalling Spirits is more than a campfire ghost story or haunted house—it’s a breakthrough arts performance drawing on the local histories of those who came before us. In collaboration with Harvard composer and music producer Micah Huang, Scripps Professor of Music Hao Huang integrates narration, acting, soundscape, and body movement for an unforgettable night of storytelling acknowledging past spirits of Southern California’s Indigenous peoples and the lore of Claremont itself. Featured partners include Gabrielino-Shoshone tribal council spiritual leader Javier Ramirez and Scott Orellana Inglés Scoggins, strategic partnership and development coordinator at Anahuacalmecac University Preparatory High.
