Faculty Statement

Faculty, Staff, and Students,

At its meeting on February 16, 2017, the faculty approved the following statement:

In light of the harm, chaos, and distress caused by recent Executive Orders issued from the United States White House, the faculty of Scripps College expresses its unwavering support for all members of the Scripps College community, regardless of religion or national origin. As affirmed in recent statements from President Tiedens, we are a community that values “diversity, inclusion, equity, and access,” and we applaud the efforts of the staff in the offices of the President, Dean of Students, Dean of Faculty, and Human Resources to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of our community. We stand in solidarity with all those affected by recent political actions and will do our utmost to maintain Scripps College as a place of openness, compassion, and mutual support.
