Meet Jannat ’26

Hello! My name is Jannat and I am a second year majoring in Politics and American Studies. I’m originally from India, but I’ve been living in Dallas, Texas since 2016. Outside of admissions, I am a part of the Pomona Model UN team and a few South Asian affinity groups on campus. When I am not on campus, you can find me at a cafe in the village or at a concert in Los Angeles. I am also frequently seen at the Motley which is the student run coffee house on campus. During my college application journey — I never expected myself to end up at a historically women’s college. What stood out to me most was the consortium. Having access to the resources of 5 college campuses while being in a community like Scripps really drew me in. The collaborative academic environment, supportive and unique student body, and the general atmosphere of the campus ended up being the reason why I chose this university in the end. I hope this school is able to offer you the home that it has given to me, and I cannot wait to meet you.
