Inside Science recently interviewed Interim Dean of W.M. Keck Science Department and Professor of Biology Marion Preest about her research investigating the unusual feeding strategies of chameleons, a behavior that originally got her attention because of the odor associated with the reptiles in her lab.
Preest, a Scripps College professor, was lead investigator for the research that included Pitzer College alumnus Matthew Ward ’11, Pitzer Professor of Chemistry Thomas Poon, and Professor of Biomedical Sciences John Hermanson at Cornell University. The results of their three-year research project were recently published in the journal Physiological and Biochemical Zoology:  http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/abs/10.1086/685455
