In the Media: California Lawmakers Approve Bill to Require Corporate Boards to Include Women

As reported by The Los Angeles Times, California lawmakers drafted a bill that would require women to be included on the boards of directors of firms headquartered in California by 2019. The bill was co-authored by California state Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson ’71, who noted in a floor speech that “[women’s] insight is critical to discussions and decisions that affect corporate culture, actions, and profitability.”‘
