Sarah Harris '96
Major(s) and Minor(s): History
Thesis title and/or topic/description: "Women in Muslim History"
What have you done since graduation?
I worked in Las Vegas for 2 years before attending Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago. I have since worked at three law firms and served as the General Counsel of the Milwaukee Brewers. I am currently a partner in the Corporate & Securities practice group of Baker & McKenzie in Chicago where I specialize in mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions.
How do you think majoring in history or taking history classes has mattered to you?
I think history classes were a fantastic preparation for the academic rigors of law school, and proved valuable in everyday situations (conversations at cocktail parties and with clients, as well as understanding global current events).
Do you have any particular memories of faculty or classes that you can share?
It was the amazing history professors at Scripps that made me choose it after my visit. Rita Roberts, Brad Blaine (and his Great Dane, Thane), Julie Liss and Professor Yamashita (Pomona) are all highlights of my undergraduate academic experiences.
Please contact Julie Liss if you would like to connect with this alumna.
