NEW Hall: Building for the Future

Thanks to an incredibly generous, anonymous $10 million lead gift, construction is currently underway for NEW Hall at Scripps College. Scripps’ 10th residence hall is located northwest of the Sallie Tiernan Field House and is scheduled for completion in fall 2016.

Designed in harmony with the distinctive look of the original campus, NEW Hall will feature walks and vistas characteristic of our founder’s vision. The design reflects the Mediterranean style of architecture popular in southern California during the 1920’s and 1930’s that has earned Scripps a reputation as one of the nation’s most beautiful campuses.

NEW Hall will embody the sense of place and visual texture that decades of Scripps students recall with great fondness – serene courtyards and tastefully appointed interior spaces – that provide a home away from home.
