Linda Nochlin

Professor Nochlin will discuss in a seminar open to the Claremont community her essays “Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?” (1971) and “Women, Art, and Power” (1988).
Linda Nochlin is Distinguished Professor of Art History at the City University of New York Graduate Center. Her works on women artists include Women Artists: 1550-1950 (1976), which she co-authored with Ann Sutherland Harris, and Women, Art, and Power and Other Essays (1988).
