Introducing the Class of 2018

Each year, Scripps College pursues an incoming class balanced by unique intellects, uncommon interests, and passion for service. This year is no different – and as you’ll see below, the 252 members of the Class of 2018 (selected from over 2,700 applicants) form a remarkable group before ever setting foot in Claremont.

A first year band would consist of 20 different instruments, including ukulele, violin, drums, oboe, pipa, and alto sax.

The Class of 2018 performed in numerous musicals and worked behind the scenes as directors, choreographers, prop masters, and orchestra members.

They are Athletic

The Class of 2018 plays 48 different sports.

The Class of 2018 includes 58 team captains, 7 co-captains, 6 managers, 2 founders, 1 quarterback, and 1 assistant coach.

They are Engaged

The Class of 2018 has volunteered at nearly 208 different organizations.

The Class of 2018 joined 284 different types of club in high school.

The Class of 2018 has held 154 different types of jobs, including tutors, lifeguards, cashiers, and babysitters.
