Featuring TAPESTRY of Boston performing “Web of Lace” – a concert of works by women composers from past to present day.
In this celebration of women composers, Tapestry mixes every possible combination of voice, clarinet, and piano. In one moment, listeners are transported by nature’s beauty or transfixed in a web of lace while in another, swept away by joyful rhythms of folk- inspired works. The stories of these amazing women are woven through this engaging program that includes Ysaye Barnwell, Modesta Bor, Lili Boulanger, Cecile Chaminade, Rebecca Clarke, Ella Jenkins, Emily Lau, Nadine Shanti, and Patricia Van Ness.
