Curated by alumna Jennie Waldow ’12\, curatorial associate and collections specialist at the UCLA Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at the Hammer Museum\, the exhibition brings together more than 70 paintings\, sculptures\, textiles\, works on paper\, artists’ books\, and new media. \n\nFeaturing both historically significant and emerging artists\, An Artistic Legacy is the first comprehensive survey of Scripps’ development as a center for artistic innovation. The exhibition explores how Scripps artists challenged traditional\, often gendered distinctions between fine and applied arts while advancing new approaches to material and form.\n\nA free\, public opening reception will be held at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery on Saturday\, September 19\, from 7 to 9 PM.\n\nAn Artistic Legacy: Scripps at 100 will be on view through December 13\, 2026. DESCRIPTION:Brought to you by Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History Zsofi Valyi-Nagy and Professor of Art Nancy Macko. \nPixel Palettes: 40 Years of Digital Art at Scripps’ Clark Humanities Museum explores the College’s innovative role in incorporating computing technology into visual arts education and practice from 1987 to 2027.
