“Continuing to Make Arts Through COVID – Digital Arts Entrepreneurship”

Join via Zoom at https://scrippscollege.zoom.us/j/96205440924

Speakers Emma Claire Gies and Evo Terra will be speaking about two pathways to meaningful work in the Arts in 2021 and beyond.  Emma, Pitzer ’13, is co-founder of Flow Music, an online music school that encourages student creativity by teaching improvisational skills in addition to traditional music training. In “The Art of Online Music Teaching,” she will focus on the initial planning stages of how to develop an online teaching business with concrete steps that students can take to  prepare for a productive life in the arts post-graduation. The specific details of how to put into practice the goals covered in her talk will be addressed in the one-on-one sessions that can be arranged after the webinar.

Evo Terra launched the 40th podcast ever back in 2004. Since that time, he’s written Podcasting For Dummies and hosted over 20 different podcasts. Professionally, he’s worked directly with over 700 podcasts and runs the boutique strategic podcast consultancy, Simpler Media. His talk  “Podcasting is More Arts than Science” will shed light on using podcasting as a creative outlet and demonstrate how students of the Arts are uniquely qualified to shape the future of podcasting in years to come. Once again, the specific details of how to put into practice the goals covered in his talk will be addressed in the one-on-one sessions that can be arranged after the webinar.
