Equity and Justice Team

Under the IDEA Initiative, the Equity and Justice Team is charged with addressing timely concerns regarding equity on campus; building community and belonging among faculty, students, and staff; and implementing long-term initiatives to ensure Scripps continues to be an equitable and just institution. Since it’s founding, the team leads DEIJ workshops for campus constituencies; participates and shares insights from the Liberal Arts Colleges Racial Equity Leadership Alliance (LACRELA) econvenings; guides the development and provides funding support for departmental DEI action plans; administers the Racial Justice and Equity Fellowship program for faculty and students; and publishes the College’s IDEA Initiative newsletter to share DEIJ updates with the broader Scripps community.

The Equity and Justice Team currently consists of the Associate Dean of Faculty for Racial Equity (ADRE), Assistant Dean and Scripps Communities of Resources and Empowerment (SCORE) Director, Vice President, Secretary of the Board, and Convener of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) Initiative, and the Equity and Justice Fellow.
