Social Justice & Social Practice in Book Arts print portfolio
Sixteen undergraduate students created letterpress prints on social justice topics including sexual assault, cost of higher education, and the treatment of women in the sciences. Coupled with pressure prints or cut vinyl, handset letterpress of varied typefaces appears on 6 x 9 inch sheets of Hahnemühle Ingres paper. Compiled in a white envelope, the print portfolio is numbered and signed by the artists. Students documented their process and inspiration in textual and photographic entries on the class website, justicepracticebooks.omeka.net.
