Lori Bettison-Varga Endowment for Student Thesis and Research Support
In celebration of President Bettison-Varga’s service to the College, the Board of Trustees has established this endowment fund as a unique and lasting contribution to the College’s traditions and its future.
This endowment fund will help provide the following support for Scripps College students’ thesis and research projects:
- Summer, pre-thesis research
- Intersession (January) or mid-term thesis research for full-year thesis projects; having begun a project in the fall, students can often use archival or other research support before they return in the spring to complete the thesis.
- Costs associated with conference presentation of thesis research
- Purchase of materials and/or equipment to support research and thesis production
To honor President Bettison-Varga’s leadership legacy, gifts or pledges may be made to The Lori Bettison-Varga Endowment Fund for Student Thesis and Research Support through June 30, 2016. We ask that such gifts be considered above and beyond ongoing critical operating support through The Scripps Fund.
