Before deciding to change careers and pursue medicine, our students come from a fascinating variety of backgrounds. Some join us directly after completing their undergraduate education, while others had years in an established profession. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds and careers, including acting, speech pathology, finance, music production, gerontology, prosthetics, national parks education, politics, the military, social work, medical scribing, and psychology.
All of them made the decision to change their lives by beginning the Scripps College Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program as the first step toward becoming a medical professional.
"I loved how supportive and positive our cohort was throughout the year. I made some lasting friendships and had a wonderful time despite the occasional intensity of the coursework. Some of my favorite memories from this year were the events in Claremont and our group get-togethers and dinners."
