In the Media: Linda Davis Taylor Discusses Women’s Philanthropy in Thrive Journal

Thrive Journal Women's Philanthropy

Former chair of the Scripps Board of Trustees Linda Davis Taylor recently weighed in on a Women’s Philanthropy Institute (WPI) study about the generational transmission of philanthropy. The research found that when parents practiced charitable giving, their children were significantly more likely to give themselves as adults. This relationship is especially significant for daughters, who are more likely than sons to follow in their parents’ footsteps when it comes to philanthropy. In light of this research, Taylor argues for more early financial training, encouragement, and opportunities for girls.
