In the Media: Barbara Arnwine ’73 in Washington Post, “We Should be Coming Together”

Barbara Arnwine

Barbara Arnwine ’73 was quoted in a Washington Post column about the role of black men in organizing to defend black women against insulting remarks made by President Trump. Arnwine, the executive director of the Transformative Justice Coalition, says that while black women are organizing, “black men don’t do the same.” She continues, “We should be coming together, raising our voices in solidarity. There are some black men involved, but we need more. We need them to be more organized and vocalized, loud enough to be heard. Not mealy-mouthed and silent.”
