Stephanie Park ’13 has been awarded a 2016–2017 California Senate Fellowship, one of four fellowships administered by the Capital Fellows Program. Majoring in the humanities: interdisciplinary studies in culture and minoring in ethnomusicology, Park graduated summa cum laude from Scripps College and was subsequently awarded a Fulbright Scholar teaching assistantship in South Korea. She then completed a New Sector RISE fellowship in Boston. Named one of the top-10 internship programs in the nation by Vault.com (2010, 2011), the Capital Fellows Programs are an outstanding opportunity for college graduates to engage in public service and prepare for future careers. These nationally recognized public policy fellowships offer unique experiences in policy making and development in each branch of government. Capital Fellows are placed at some of the highest levels of California state government and assist state legislators, senior-level executive staff, and court administrators with a broad range of public policy issues and projects and participate in policy making, program development, and program implementation. Fellows gain firsthand experience in the governance and leadership of the most diverse, complex state in the nation.
