The Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery is currently showing about 20 works from a series by Professor of Art Ken Gonzales-Day, as featured in The Chicago Sun Times. The widely recognized Erased Lynching series features images derived from appropriated lynching postcards and archival source material. It is intended to highlight often overlooked historical accounts of Latino, Native American, Chinese, and African-American lynching victims in the American West.
