Professor Eric Haskell Lectures on French Gardens at 2017 Newport Flower Show

According to the Newport Daily News, Eric T. Haskell, professor of French studies and interdisciplinary humanities and director of the Clark Humanities Museum at Scripps College, participated in the 2017 Newport Flower Show in Newport, Rhode Island, presenting a lecture on the evolution of French gardens. Professor Haskell’s courses at Scripps focus on the interdisciplinary study of literature, history, art, architecture and the history of ideas as well as on political and social traditions which have shaped France. In 2013, the government of France recognized Haskell’s scholarly achievement awarding him with the Palmes Académiques medal and membership as a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters for his significant contributions.
