“Celebrating The Arts” Benefit

The Scripps College Fine Arts Foundation will present "Celebrating the Arts" on Saturday, March 23, on the Scripps campus to fund student art scholarships. Beginning with a buffet luncheon at 11:30 a.m. in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons, the benefit will include a fashion show featuring Diane Ricks wearable art, a Jean Ames retrospective art exhibit, a silent auction, and an art exhibition and sale. Noted guitarist and composer Michael Ryan will provide music. Tickets are $50.00 per person; for reservations and additional information please call Corinne Gallman at (909) 626-6715.

Local artists featured in the exhibit are M.C. Armstrong, Phyllis Bennett, Kathryn Herman, Kim Kimmerling, Andre Mahoney, Amy Maloof, Annie Marquis, Deborah Mars, Britt Rynearson, Ann Seltzer, Ahlene Welsh, Denise Figuerdo, and members of the Scripps College Press. Items for sale include ceramics, silk Shibori scarves, jewelry, and paintings. Items for auction will include designer flower arrangements, gift baskets, artist books, and more.

Scripps College’s Fine Arts Foundation, founded in 1935, is pleased to present this program as part of its mission to stimulate public interest in art and to raise funds to foster art education and programming at Scripps College.
