In the Media: Julia Jackson ’10 Speaks to North Bay Business Journal about Fighting Climate Change

CLAREMONT, California - June 18, 2019

The North Bay Business Journal interviewed Julia Jackson ’10, winner of a North Bay Women in Business Award, about the launch of her new nonprofit organization, Grounded. “Over the past few years, I have watched our climate crisis become increasingly devastating, with significant impact across the world,” Jackson told the Journal. “From catastrophic wildfires and flooding to unpredictable weather, we are seeing increasing rates of natural disasters weekly.” That’s why Jackson founded Grounded, which is “dedicated to accelerating scalable solutions to climate change.” The first Grounded summit was held in March; Governor Jerry Brown gave the summit’s opening speech to over 250 scientists, activists, leaders, and corporate representatives who met to discuss climate change solutions.
