Haley Wilhelm ’16 Named IES Study Abroad Ambassador of the Year

Haley Wilhelm ’16, a politics and international relations major and German studies minor, has served as a study abroad ambassador for the Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) since she finished her junior year abroad in Freiburg, Germany. Among hundreds of IES alumni, Wilhelm was chosen as one of the 2017 Abroad Ambassadors of the Year.

In her role as an ambassador, Wilhelm shares her experiences and gives advice to students preparing to study abroad—she served on study abroad panels during her time as an undergraduate at Scripps College and continues to answer questions from students across the US.

Returning to Germany post-graduation on a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship, Wilhelm has continued to develop her German-language skills and encourages others in their language development.
