U.S. News & World Report Ranks Scripps College 24th Best Liberal Arts College in Nation

Scripps College is 24th on the U.S. News & World Report rankings of America’s best liberal arts colleges for 2013. The College earned its top-tier placement from an assessment by U.S. News that measures key factors, such as academic reputation, selectivity, and faculty resources.

Also included in the rankings of the “Best Liberal Arts Colleges” are survey results from more than 1,300 counselors at public high schools. Scripps ranks high—13th overall—among counselors surveyed. Counselors were asked to rate schools based on their insights and knowledge, in addition to their views of each college’s academic record, curriculum, faculty, programs, and graduates.

Data from 239 national liberal arts colleges are gathered from each college on up to 16 indicators of academic excellence. Each factor is assigned a weight that reflects the judgment of U.S. News on the importance of each measure. The colleges in each category are then ranked against their peers, based on their composite weighted score. For more information, go to www.usnews.com.
