Laspa Center for Leadership is very excited to have completed their first L-Squad series, “Who You Are as a Leader” this semester.  L-Squads are a brand new series of workshops designed for students to develop leadership skills and explore various leadership styles. To kick off the series, the first L-Squad centered around the theme Learn How You Lead. The session took place over the lunch hour on October 12, 19, and 26, with the same 22 participants attending each session. During the first session, students took the Connective Leadership Assessment to examine their strengths and leadership styles as a relational leader. For the second session, Fred Leichter, Director of The Hive at Pomona College, facilitated interactive activities about designing individual leadership models. Students collaborated with peers in small groups to determine the qualities of “good” and “bad” leaders, using those discussions to shape their own ideal leadership models. Moreover, Dean Charlotte Johnson led the final session and helped students craft mission statements. Following such success, the Laspa Center is looking forward to hosting a second L-Squad on Design Thinking and Social Networking in February 8, 15, 22.  For more information or should you be interested in attending this event, please email [email protected]
