Meher McArthur, Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler curator of academic programs and collections at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, previewed three of Alison Saar ’78’s upcoming Los Angeles-area exhibitions for KCET. McArthur described Saar as “an unstoppable force in the world of art,” with works that “tackle race, gender and spirituality head on, pushing the boundaries of her materials and the limits of her audience’s understanding of this nation’s complex and often cruel cultural and social history.” The Williamson Gallery’s virtual exhibition of Saar’s work, titled Mirror, Mirror, opened on August 29 and will run through December 6.
