Mishuana Goeman

Mishuana Goeman (Tonawanda Band of Seneca) is an assistant professor of the UCLA women’s studies department. She received her doctorate from Stanford University’s Modern Thought and Literature program and was a UC presidential Post-doctoral fellow at Berkeley. Her forthcoming book, Mark My Words: Native Women (Re)mapping Our Nations, will be released by the University of Minnesota Press in 2012. She has been published in American Quarterly, Wicazo Sa, International Journal of Critical Indigenous Studies, American Indian Cultures and Research Journal, and the Journal of Anthropological Research. She has guest edited journal volumes on Native Feminisms and Indigenous Performances andco-authored a book chapter in Handbook for Gender Equity on “Gender Equity for American Indians.”
