Elephant Tears: Animal Emotion in Aelian and Pliny

Professor of Classics Ellen Finkelpearl published an article, “Elephant Tears: Animal Emotion in Aelian and Pliny” in a volume called Kinesis The Ancient Depiction of Gesture, Motion, and Emotion, Christina A. Clark, Edith Foster, and Judith P. Hallett, editors, University of Michigan Press 2015. She will present a paper called “Pythagoras in Apuleius Metamorphoses 11.1” at the 5th International Conference on the Ancient Novel in Houston, TX, Sept 30-Oct. 4, of which she is one of the co-organizers.
