Revolution and Ritual: The Photographs of Sara Castrejón, Graciela Iturbide and Tatiana Parcero

War, indigenous cultures and inner transformation ferment in “Revolution and Ritual: The Photographs of Sara Castrejón, Graciela Iturbide and Tatiana Parcero,” at the Williamson Gallery–Scripps contribution to the Getty’s LA/LA art initiative. This exhibition hones in on the works of three Mexican women photographers who explore and transform notions of Mexican identity in images that range from the documentary to the poetic. A reception with live music and light refreshments will be held at the Gallery on Sat., Sept. 9 from 7-9 p.m. Also on Sept. 9, there will be a writers’ panel at 1 pm and an artists’ panel at 3 pm in the Humanities Auditorium. The exhibition runs from Aug. 26, 2017–Jan.7, 2018.
