Please join us for the historic visit of Dr. Maryse Narcisse, the presidential candidate of Fanmi Lavalas which is the party of Haiti’s first democratically elected president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Whether in power or ousted by U.S. backed coups, Lavalas never abandons its struggles for dignity. As a medical doctor, Dr. Narcisse helped establish the Aristide Foundation’s medical and nursing schools, and led the medical response after the 2010 earthquake and Hurricane Matthew in 2016. She has been a courageous Lavalas militant since the beginnings of Lavalas in the struggle against the Duvalier dictatorship.
Dr. Narcisse is a recognized public health specialist dedicated to the fight against HIV/AIDS. She oversaw grassroots medical efforts to combat the cholera epidemic brought to Haiti by the United Nations. She stands at the forefront of the fight for justice for Haitians and Dominicans of Haitian descent in the Dominican Republic, and for Haitian immigrants in the United States.

Dr. Narcisse has led the struggles for women’s rights, women’s health and the full participation of women in all aspects of Haitian society. In her first visit to California, she is speaking in the Los Angeles area at a women’s college.
