Ayiti Alive!: 2011-2014

Exhibition of Myriam J. A. Chancy’sAyiti Alive!: 2011-2014, photographs documenting the immediate post-earthquake period, with participation from Swiss/Haitian artist, Sasha Huber, and her video response, Haïti Chérie (2010-11).

The show consists of 52 digital photographs printed on aluminum metallic sheets, ranging in size from 11×14 to 16×20. All photographs sold (prices range from $80-160) will benefit local grassroots Haiti organizations.

Opening Reception: February 7, 2020, 6:00-7:30 pm

Myriam J. A. Chancy, born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is a Guggenheim Fellow, Hartley Burr Alexander Chair in the Humanities at Scripps College, and Interim Director of the Scripps Humanities Institute (2019-20). Her novel, 12 (Douze), on the Haiti earthquake, is forthcoming from HarperCollins Canada.
