May Diversity and Inclusivity Community Update

Diversity and Inclusion Update

Dear Scripps College Students, Faculty, and Staff,

I am writing to provide the final update of this academic year on the College’s actions and progress toward combating institutional racism, expanding support for students of color and members of other marginalized groups, and creating a more inclusive climate for all Scripps students.

Working with faculty, students, and staff, we have continued to make progress on the identified commitments. I appreciate those who have continued to contribute their time and effort to advancing efforts to improve the climate for marginalized groups not only at Scripps but also across the consortium.

I look forward to continuing this work over the summer and to reconvening as a community in the fall to assess our impact and determine next steps.

As always, I welcome your questions and comments as we continue to work on these issues together.

Sincerely,

Amy Marcus-Newhall
