Areas of Expertise

My research focuses on post-Unification Italy (1870-1910) and a spectrum of interrelated topics that include Sicilian verismo, the emergence of Italian women writers and the literature of Italian emigration.

Personal Interests

I have an abiding interest in issues relating to Italian language teaching, literary translation and the history of Italian cooking.
